  1. The case

The patient came to Santos Dental with sensitivity in an upper molar: discomfort with cold drinks and with sweet food.

  2. What we did

After diagnosis, the tooth was treated under local anesthetic and rubber dam isolation, to work in a clean, dry field. The decay was removed and the tooth restored with composite resin, following specific protocols to reduce post-operative sensitivity and to keep the tooth from needing a root canal.

  3. Outcome

A functional restoration, no sensitivity, and a tooth that keeps its vitality.
